Amanda M. Socci, J.D., is a freelance writer with 14 years of experience writing professionally. Socci currently cuts her blogging chops on her personal portfolio blog, the Creative Idea Gal blog, and on an online news site, Mount Vernon Patch.
Socci has written guest blog posts on topics as diverse as pregnancy morning sickness, farmer’s markets, and George Washington’s garden greens (forthcoming). She also has several book blogging projects in progress: A Slice of Faith (keeping a faithful attitude despite negative life circumstances), A Slice of Gratitude (expressing gratitude for people, places, and things), and A Slice of Nonfiction Writing Prompts Inspired by WNFIN (creative writing prompts inspired by the Write Nonfiction in November writing challenge).
Socci’s freelance writing credits include articles published in the National Catholic Educational Association’s Momentum magazine, DCSportsFan.com (now known as TheSportsFanNetwork.com), Washington, D.C.’s Women’s Business Center newsletter, and the Washington Independent Writer’s Association newsletter. Socci also self-published Consumers Everywhere magazine, a theme-based magazine covering diverse consumer topics, from 1998-2002.
Despite earning her Juris Doctorate law degree from Howard University School of Law in 1998, Socci remains true to her roots and her free spirit as a diehard creative with unique visions. She prides herself on coming up with new ideas for any project and became inspired to call herself the Creative Idea Gal. Socci began blogging in April 2012, after participating actively in social media for several years.
