I’ve recently received several emails asking me when I might be teaching a workshop or teleseminar. My schedule’s been a bit crazy this past year, but I’ll have more time this coming school year to schedule both teleseminars and local retreats. Or, if you want to hire me to come to your neck of the woods, please give me a call! I’m always happy to travel for a teaching or speaking gig.
That said, I wanted to let you know about a wonderful opportunity to get away, learn with me, and inspire your writing. I’ll be teaching three classes at the California Writers’ Club South Bay Writer’s Branch Summer Retreat in a few weeks–Birthing Your Book from Concept to Completion, How to Write a Book Proposal and Creating the Perfect Pitch. If you live in the Northern California area, why not get away for a few days and join me?
Here are the details:
Join California Writers Club/South Bay Writers at its writers’ retreat, a rare opportunity to spend four days in a writers’ think-tank with award winning presenters who’ve never before gathered under one roof. The retreat lasts for four days and three nights, September 1 – 4, at Alamo, CA, near highway 680 on San Francisco’s east bay. All meals, 10 workshops, lodging, and amenities are included. College students are encouraged to apply for scholarships.
Network in a relaxed atmosphere. Learn how to create a visually stunning novel. Write a perfect pitch. Craft a story one scene at a time. Evaluate your book for success. Take time to swim or hike, read in the shade, write that first draft of the story that’s been hovering in the back of your mind. All of that and enjoy five-star meals as well.
Facilitators are Nina Amir, editor, author, coach and award winner; Nora Profit, CEO of the Writers Loft; Janis Bell, author of Clear, Well-Lighted Sentences; Jay Swartz, film editor; and C.S. Lakin, Zondervan award winner.
Workshops include The Profit Puzzle, Behind the Scenes, Birthing Your Book From Concept To Completion, Character Archetypes, Winning Sentences, Cinematic Scenes, The Hero’s Journey, 15-minute individual critiques, How To Write A Book Proposal, and The Perfect Pitch.
