It’s always best to learn from those who have done something successfully. Here’s some great advice from an indie author who has not gone the e-book way but has achieved great success.
Penelope Trunk is the founder of three startups—most recently, Brazen Careerist, a career management tool for next-generation professionals. Her career advice appears in more than 200 newspapers. Inc. Magazine called Penelope “the world’s most influential guidance counselor.” Although she published a book with Time Warner a few years ago, she decided to self-publish a book this time around “to see what it would be like to self-publish.” She likes holding printed books in hand, so opted again an ebook format.
Penelope did some unique things, which are all described in her post, which you can read here, including:
- published for the money
- printed her book in China
- worried less about a title and more about a good landing page
- produced a limited edition
This woman is savvy and a real entrepreneur, so be sure to read her post, and follow the links, too.
