Dr. Maya Angelou Wednesday
Have you had a chance to review some biographical facts about Dr. Maya Angelou? In case you haven’t, let me brief you on some of the highs and lows from her life. She worked as a prostitute, dancer, singer, and speaker. She was raped at an early age and lived through the deaths of two famous black leaders with whom she worked. She lived in Egypt for a while and did a significant amount of freelance writing. She was asked to recite a poem at an important presidential event. Every single life experience impacted Dr. Angelou in one way or another; inspired by her own life, Dr. Angelou took to writing. In today’s writing prompt, we focus on the inspirational words of Dr. Maya Angelou.

- Step 1: Do basic Internet research and learn some of the inspirational quotes and phrases that Dr. Maya Angelou has said over the years.
- Step 2: Pick a few of your favorite quotes and think about how Dr. Angelou’s inspirational message makes you feel. How do the quotes apply in your life? What specific examples within your own life can you address within the context of the quote?
